About

The Travis High School Band Program offers a comprehensive curriculum for students, including three concert bands, one jazz band, a percussion ensemble, a year long class in color guard, and a competitive marching band during the fall semester. The Travis Fine Arts Department also includes in the curriculum orchestra, choir, drama, dance and an AP Music Theory course.

The marching band is a consistent UIL Sweepstakes recipient as well as local contest and Bands of America competitor. The Travis High School Band Program also has a rich history at UIL Concert & Sightreading as well as being an active participant in the TMEA Honor Band process.  Part of the band curriculum is a sincere focus on individual development, which manifests in having consistent Region, Area, and All State band members.

The Richmond, Texas community is a diverse area in Southwest Houston. The community hosts citizens from across the globe of varying nationality, ethnicity, and cultural heritage, leading to a diverse student population. The Travis High School Band is supported by 2 partial middle schools, Garcia Middle School & Sartartia Middle School, and one full feeder, Bowie Middle School.
